This is a wonderful example of a hand crafted ash split melon shaped egg basket, likely from the 19th century. Shaped like Noah's ark, with a "god's eye" pattern. Please see pictures for condition. The handle and ribs show tool marks from being shaped with a drawknife or spokeshave. Measures 10" long x 7.5" wide x 7" to top of handle. This is a remarkable collectible.
